Hor Mai (May Day Break)

Hey Hey and a Big G'Day to you

What a day indeed, the day was spent caving.

My gawwwwd, the amount of caves in the area. The towns here are built in between massive limestone hills and I'm talking thousands of them. If I've shown you pictures of the Yangshuo/Guilin area, it's the same here.

The first cave took about 45 mins to an hour to go through. It was unbelievable!

Later that day we went up into the hills to a village called Hor Mai for a wedding feast. It was so beautiful there, so green and the village is built on the side of a big hill. The huts and all made of wood and are a relaxing sight for tired eyes. One of the young boys took us for a tour up one of the hills. It was a little scary I tell you, but hey, if Mandy can do it in high heels then I should be right. We made it to the top and sat for an hour or so and then headed across the spine of the hill and down the other side to a temple where I freaked a couple of old men out by being there. I asked if I could take pictures and I took a few of them.

I then showed them on the cameras rear screen, you should have seen their faces.

When we got back one of the locals wanted to take me through another cave there so he grabbed the keys to the gate and off we went again. This one was even better and more unbelievable than the first. I thought we had some good caves in Australia but these just blow your mind. Finally we made it back to the village and the feast was about to begin.

In China, it just keeps coming. Each meal here is like a 20 course meal! We ate and drank into the night in the paradise that is Hor Mai!

There was no cat or dog that I know of but there was weasel and some type of rat. MMMmmmm R A T!

Beers N Noodles toya...shane
